Since 1992, the foundation has continuously provided the award with 68 student athletes receiving the award. It is presented annually to recognize the top William L. Dickinson High School track and field athletes.

The award bears Robert Rodenkirchen’s name in recognition of his significant athletic career, which included several Hudson county, New Jersey state and 5 world records in sprinting events – 60 yd., 100 yd., 100 m, 220 yds., 200 m, 4×800 relay and his life-long involvement with the Track and Field community in New Jersey and New York.

2023 Rodenkirchen Winged Foot Award recipients Malik Bails and Jose Espinal. Jose set personal records this track and field season with times of 4:42.95 in the 1600 m and 10:20.78 in the 3200 m. While Mailk set new Dickinson High School records of 140-3 in the discus and 50′ 7.5″ in the shotput.
